Recent law school grad Liz Johnson takes over the popular blog series Young, Hungry & Committed, sharing her journey as she builds a solo practice in Annapolis, Maryland.
Annapolis, MD – Starting a law firm right out of school isn’t easy, and those lawyers who do have to be driven. Liz Johnson is one of those lawyers.
Liz is a newly solo lawyer and virtual office client in Law Firm Suites’ Annapolis, Maryland office, Her practice focuses on wills, trust, estates and elder law.
Liz has taken the reigns of Law Firm Suites’ popular blog series, Young, Hungry & Committed, where she will chronicle her journey into the world of solo practice.
“I initially met Liz at a networking event co-sponsored with the Anne Arundel County Bar Association to celebrate new members and the opening of our location in Annapolis,” says Law Firm Suites president, Stephen Furnari. “Her story was captivating and her commitment to being successful in solo practice was inspiring, I just knew that her story would be an inspiration to other lawyers.”
Proving That I am “Good Enough”
Like many new law school grads, Liz grew tired of applying for law firm jobs and getting nowhere. Months of rejection made Liz feel like the firms were telling her “you’re not good enough,” which inspired her to strike out on her own.
Liz’s unique voice gives lawyers an unfiltered and honest look at tackling solo practice as a newly admitted lawyer. Like in this article, where she warns new solos to not follow her example when deciding whether or not to go solo.
About the Young, Hungry & Committed Series
The YHC series was started in 2013 when the newly admitted commercial litigator Vivian Sobers started a solo law practice after graduating law school. For over two years, Ms. Sobers chronicled her journey into solo practice and went on to become one of Law Firm Suites biggest success stories.
The goal of YHC is to give young lawyers an unvarnished look at what solo practice is like right out of law school, and to inspire other lawyers, who may be struggling to find a job, to consider solo practice as a career option.
Liz will be posting a new article twice a month on Tuesdays. The next article will be published on February 7th, 2017.
